Based In the heart of the Swartland region, about 50 miles north of Cape Town, the winery has been harvesting grapes for over 70 years from wine farms spread out on the hills around Malmesbury and greater Western Cape area. Cape Hills one of our special private label lifestyle wines, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes comprise an abundant rich bouquett and ripe flavour profile best enjoyed with good food and in good company!

To love our land is to love its open spaces – the soft curves of the landscape; silent, regimental vineyards, a forever sky dotted with clouds and wheat fields that run beyond the horizon. The range consists of a zesty and aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, crisp and refreshing Chenin Blanc, soft Merlot and finally an elegant Pinotage.

The delicious red wine made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsualt and the white blended comprised of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc & Marsanne are both new world not to French style wines and are created from vines grown in granite rich earth of the trendy, up-and-coming region of the Swartland.

The Lion’s Hill name has derived from the famous Lion’s Head and Signal Hill peaks that flank Table Mountain. Legend has it that Lion’s Hill was named after the famous Cape Lion (Panthera Leo) that used to roam freely in the Western Cape many years ago. Today, the iconic sphinx-like lion still keeps a watchful eye over the mountain and the people of the Cape. The wines are easy in style and this entry level range comprised of a Dry Red, Dry Rosé, Dry White, Sweet White, Sweet Red, and Sweet Rosé.

Swartland Winery is well known for the wines crafted from hand-picked, low yielding bush vines. Due to the very low annual rainfall, the Swartland landscape is arid and desert-like meaning the vines have to go deep in their search for water, resulting in wines which have superb and intense concentration of fruit. The range comprises a Chenin Blanc & Pinotage, both regarded as South Africa’s indigenous grapes.

The Serengeti is also renowned for its large lion population and is one of the best places to observed prides in their natural environment. Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language, Maa, meaning ‘Endless Plains.

The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is part of the vast Serengeti ecosystem. It embraces the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya and part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania. Grazing animals migrate where the seasonal rains are falling. Over a million Wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of Zebra and Thomson’s Gazelles join in this famous Serengeti Migration spectacular.
